OneGeology at the 33rd International Geological Congress (IGC) in 2008
OneGeology will have a big presence at the 33rd IGC in Oslo 6th – 14th August 2008. The main event for us will be the formal and official launch of OneGeology on 6th August.
OneGeology has come a long way since its humble beginnings and the kick-off workshop in Brighton, UK in March 2007.
We will have a full programme of events and meetings taking place throughout the course of the IGC. Some of the events are outlined below. As more information is available and dates and times are firmed up, these pages will be updated.

A 20 minute event to officially launch OneGeology as part of the Opening plenary of the 33rd IGC.

An event to introduce the portal, to answer questions and to provide detailed information to IGC delegates.

There will be a OneGeology exhibition booth present throughout the whole conference. Please come and find us in the main exhibition hall.

7th August 0830-1100 & 1400-1730
The symposium will comprise a series of presentations and talks to discuss the scientific, informatics and operational aspects of OneGeology.

The Technical Working Group will meet to ensure continued technical progress, prepare for events at the IGC and consider potential queries and plan for the future.

12th August: 1400 – 1800
This meeting will convene the new OneGeology Steering Group, report progress to them, present options for key issues and agree future strategy and modus operandi.

The Group will meet at the end of the conference to ensure that decisions and actions resulting from all OneGeology IGC events are captured and where necessary acted on.
